I normally would expect lower MPGs in the winter, but lately mine have been very low, for a hybrid. During the warm seasons I get around 42 MPG, and winter I sometimes see 38-39. But in the past few weeks I have seen stabilizing around 33MPG. I bought an extended warranty when I bought out my lease in 2023. They said it’s good up to 125k miles or 5 years. Can my phone be hacked by visiting a website, and can it affect my laptop if I connect them?
I understand I'm paranoid but I want to learn more about the risks for me given there always are bad actors out there. First is, I'm using an Android phone with the Brave browser app for Android. I'm not at all familiar with smartphones and security, I just know it's bad, or at least I'm guessing a lot worse than PC (PCs were around far longer and both commercial as well as scientific and ideological (FOSS etc) interests have developed it while smartphones only commercial, and as I've learned commercial equals poor quality and security). Now, how secure is sandboxing and browsers on an Android phone. If I've only visited a potential malicious website but have not run any files that it could have downloaded should I be generally speaking safe (assuming they won't be wasting browser zero days on me)? In addition, if a site downloads a file without my knowledge on my phone is it the same deal as in desktop where I'm fine as long as I don't run it? I know I file won't run by itself but maybe the attackers are targeting a directory to download the file where some other background task that runs on the phone can automatically run it, I don't know how phones work, just know there's a ton of blob in the background (like a Microsoft, your usual spyware/Googleware that comes with the phone) so can an attacker trick some background app? Question two, if my phone gets infected by a virus, is it possible for that virus to also infect my Linux machine (if they've programmed it to try in such a scenario) by me exchanging files between my Android and my Linux laptop by either a USB cable or Bluetooth. Is it also possible that such a virus can infect my laptop if I use USB debugging or WiFi debugging from my laptop to run Android/Kotlin apps I might be developing, are privileges both ways between the phone and laptop? Well, that's pretty much it. I know you can't possibly answer a sure "no, you're fine" because if there's a zero day we wouldn't know it, but I mean is it something that has happened or that tends to happen, how secure is exchanging files between the laptop and the phone via cable or Bluetooth. I know it's a special protocol (media transfer protocol if I'm correct) and probably addresses that but I know nothing about phones so I'm asking here. I'm using the Google Android that comes on my Motorola phone, it's always up to date whenever Motorola makes updates available for their devices.Should I take this Business Analyst internship?
I'm a business major master's student in EU, and I'm considering an end-of-studies internship. It is a Business Analyst role in an industrial BtoB company, over 10k employees around the world, but not well-known at all. I would work in the Pricing team, and I'd only work with Excel, PowerBI and a both with Salesforce. Almost no chance to be employed by the company after the internship. Do you think it is a good experience to have starting on the job market after graduation? Do you think I would be able to get a full-time data role? I studied social sciences for my bachelor and have almost 0 previous experience in data, so it would be a career pivot for me. I have another internship opportunity in Sustainability Management in a very big company with better salary, but I'm afraid of the perspective of not getting many technical skills. I'd appreciate the perspective of people who are in the data field.
Still sore throat, green mucus and blood after 6/7 weeks. Is this normal ?
I had a pretty bad case of Covid at the very beginning of the year. It lasted for around 2 1/2 weeks and then my fever and worst of the symptoms went away. Unfortunately, I still have so much green mucus a sore throat, and blood bloody noses almost every day. This morning when I coughed mucus with some blood in it came out, and I was wondering if it was from my nose or if there is something actually wrong with my throat. Could this sore throat still be from Covid? I asked my doctor about my symptoms yesterday and she said to wait two more weeks and if it still was going on that I should come in . Its a DIY extrusion rig with a sparco seat, 27 inch 144hz triple monitors, g29, shifter, handbrake, and modified pedals. I plan to swap over my current wheelbase and pedals to it once I do some TLC on the rig. I got it all for $500, did i make out good? Any suggestions on what I should add or modify on it?
